SCOTT R. PATTON is an Associate in the firm of Mayhall & Blaize, LLC. Scott was born and raised in Shreveport Louisiana. Scott received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. After college, Scott worked in Washington, DC for the Energy Intelligence Group as the Assistant Editor of the Oil Daily. Scott later graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University with Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees. Scott is a member of the Baton Rouge and Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana; U.S. District Court, Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
Scott began his legal career in Shreveport with Lunn, Irion, Salley, Carlisle & Gardner, practicing primarily in insurance defense and workers compensation litigation. In 2007, Scott returned to Baton Rouge to become the Executive Counsel for the Office of Mineral Resources at the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, where he provided legal counsel to the Office of Mineral Resources and the Louisiana State Mineral Board. Scott also served as the industry liaison for energy companies operating in the State of Louisiana. During his service with the State, Scott provided consultation on regulatory, litigation, and administrative decisions regarding the office, and participated in the drafting of several bills passed during the 2008 Louisiana Legislative Session. In late 2008, Scott joined Mayhall & Blaize, LLC, where his practice areas include title examination, regulatory consultation, and litigation.
Scott is 29 years old and is married to the former Margaret Grace of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
