Margaret G. Patton
MARGARET G. PATTON is an associate with the firm Mayhall & Blaize, LLC. Ms. Patton was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her undergraduate degree from College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communications. In 2006, Ms. Patton graduated from Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center with a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Civil Law. While in law school, Ms. Patton was a member of the LSU Environmental Moot Court Team, which won the 2006 Environmental Moot Court National Championship at Pace University in White Plains, New York. She also earned one of two Wex Malone Inns of Court Scholarships, awarded to the top two performing third-year law students in LSU's Trial Advocacy program, and earned the highest grade in the law school's Advanced Trial & Evidence and Legal Research & Writing courses.
Ms. Patton began her legal career in 2006 with the firm of Blanchard, Walker, O'Quin & Roberts, APLC in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she practiced in the areas of commercial litigation and oil, gas, and energy law. In 2007, Ms. Patton returned to Baton Rouge to take an associate position with the firm of Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Philips, LLP, where she practiced in the areas of environmental regulatory law and commercial litigation. Ms. Patton joined Mayhall & Blaize in 2010, where she practices primarily in the areas of Title Examination and Division Order work. Ms. Patton is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts of Louisiana, including the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association, where she has served on the Belly Up With the Bar Committee (2008) and the Law Expo Committee (2008, 2009 - chair). Ms. Patton is a member of St. Aloysius Church and she and her husband, Scott, reside in Baton Rouge.
